After a career as a Standard and Latin Class A competitor in Japan, she moved her base to the USA and, with a British partner, became a U.S. No.4 finalist. For that achievement she is still invited to judge competitions across the U.S. Back in Japan she became an All-Japan Unified finalist and a Rising finalist at Blackpool in the U.K. Since retiring she has devoted herself to developing dancers, and is one of the few instructors in Japan who can teach American Smooth from the basics through to competition and demonstration choreography.
