Our staff competed at the Super Japan Cup too!
The Super Japan Cup was held at Makuhari Messe in Chiba on the first weekend of March. We went to cheer on the many professional dancers who come to us for lessons.
Our staff competed too, so our cheering was all the more passionate.
Photos of the Higurashi couple haven't arrived yet, but here's the Hosaka couple, whose photos and video the owner happened to be taking!
With the pandemic settling and masks eased from the 13th, the qualifying rounds (held on two half-floors) were still a masked competition. In a competition where expressions can't be seen, you can't add that extra bit of presentation.

Also, with two floors, you need ingenuity to bring out power.
JBDF athletes are used to this competition style, but for athletes of other organizations this venue is a rather unfamiliar environment.
This time our studio's Hosaka couple competed as part of their training for the "Universal Championship" the following week.
The Hosaka couple, known for their beautiful hold.
All that's left is fine-tuning for the Universal.
Do your best next week too.
Empty seats stood out at the morning competition, but by evening it was nearly full.
It feels like the glamour is returning to the dance world too.
In 2023, many events and competitions will be held.
These three years were a time of patience for the athletes, but from now they'll surely show even more wonderful dancing for the enthusiasts.

Depending on the venue, dresses and hair & makeup need adjusting too.
This venue is bright and easy to see, but during a two-floor competition it can get cluttered and hard to watch in places.
You can even miss athletes who usually look great.
To win through in that, perhaps power is needed too.
Many JBDF professional dancers will also take part in next week's Universal.
Two weeks of competitions in a row.
Everyone, do your best.
The results of the Standard main event are as follows.
1st: Tsuyoshi Hashimoto & Keiko Onda / 2nd: Yuto Hiroshima & Arisa Ishiwata / 3rd: Yuichi Fukuda & Elizabeth Gray / 4th: Koji Kobayashi & Miho Akanuma / 5th: Hirotaka Shimada & Sayaka Muramatsu / 6th: Tetsuya Konno & Kaori Inokuchi
