The All-Kanto Dance Championship

The JBDF All-Kanto Dance Championship was held, and from our studio Mr. Kenji Higurashi competed! Just missing out at the final qualifier... but he found challenges and goals for next year, and it's become something to look forward to.

And our representative Mako Karibe, as a judge in the All-Kanto Standard division, watched the athletes' dancing intently.

Judging with little prior information about the JBDF athletes, she could watch with fresh eyes, which seemed to be very good.

The venue was Osanbashi Hall in Yokohama.

This is a lovely venue where you can see all of Yokohama's sea through big windows. It feels wonderful.

At the same time, it's been said to be a hard venue for judges to see in.

For that reason, it's a venue athletes fear — you won't be seen unless you put out power.

The eyes of a spectator and the eyes of a judge are different. Checking how the athletes she usually coaches look to a judge will surely be put to use in future coaching and advice — something to look forward to.

Mr. Glenn Weiss also came to see how the athletes he's been coaching lately were doing. As an instructor, it's wonderful that he watches their real competition selves and coaches accordingly.

Watching on from the Unified event too — how did the Japanese athletes appear to him...

In fact, in between he went to Italy and coached many athletes — the powerful Mr. Glenn. We look forward to hearing his stories.

The dance world has entered party season along with the competitions. It's a joyful season to see each person's challenges toward year-end.
